Diary: Numerical Prelim, Criket, & Fixed up the 2nd pair of Grommes 101

I did not sleep well last night. I should not try to sleep early at 1am. I ended up woke up at 2:30pm and stayed awake until 5:30am. Then, I slept till 7:30am.

I got back to my office about 8:30am. Also I got a call from Brian to double check if I woke up. Anyway, the exam was freaking hard. No one would expect Padhu made a hard exam like that. I looked at the first question and I spent about 5 mins then I gave up. There were 10 questions in the exam and we had to choose 9 out of those. I did every other one except I don't sure about #8. So I gave up #8 and I went back to look at #1 and did the proof and handed them iｎ. To pass the prelim, Padhu said we have to have at least 5 completed answers. I think I am in the safe zone. (I feel bad for Kiomi and Kumudo. They may not make it.) Anyway, the result will be posted in the middle of June. After the exam, Brian and I went to Criket for lunch and drank. We played pool for an hour then I went home. When I got home, it was about 5pm. So I decided to listen to the Pilot 240 which I am going to take it to HK with the 232 combo to Keung and my father. I pulled out many stuff from the garage and cleaned everything one by one. I even fixed the 2nd pair of Grommes 101 amps. I did not have time to fire them yet. Tomorrow I will do that. If they are in good conditions, I want to sell them right away to get some cash for my trip to Japan and China. Tonight Patrick asked his friend Tim to upload the "Genki" Japanese text book in pdf format to me. I read the first two chapters and I like it. There are some words that I have not learnt yet. Btw, I will also try to write in Japanse tomorrow so I can keep practicing my Japanese. 明日から日本語で日記をつける　　

Diary: Studied! I think I am well prepared but I am still scared!

I did study in my office for the whole day as usual. But Brian, Kiomi and Kumudo came to my office today and asked me many questions. I tried my best to teach them. Anyway, I studied until 12:30am and I just got home. I think I am well prepared but I am still scared since it is my last chance to take exam. If I blow it, I am out of school right away and they have no mercy to me. In fact, the math dept kicked out 60% of the phD students. Well, there is another thing that I also worry now. I may not be able to get up on time tomorrow to take the exam at 9am. I have been sleeping very late at about 4am in the morning. I hope Brian and Kiomi call me tomorrow and wake me up.

I studied today and at night 1am I went to Cathy's place so that I could guide her to my place and drop off the lebaron before she leave tomorrow. She is a bit scare to go to Korea though. Hope everything is fine for her and she may like her teaching job in Korea.

Diary: study and dinner

I went to study as usual but at about 8pm Cathy called me for dinner at her place. Cathy, Taka, and Yuko cleaned up their fridges before their trips. So they cooked a big dinner with whatever they could find in their fridges. After dinner, I shew them some of my favorite "youtube" japanese videos. However, no one saluted them. I went back to study afterward.

Today I went to study the whole day.

Diary: Study and Karen & Kumi's Graduation

I studed today and about 5pm I went to Karen and Kumi's graduation. I took them some pics and then I went back to study. At about 7pm I went to Yuko's place to have dinner with them. The food tasted so good since I have been concentrating studying and eating Raman noodles everyday. We played "cow tongue" game for a bit and I went back to study.
