Diary: Day 2 for Lake Alan Henry

I woke up twice since I drank too much beer. With the very warm sleeping bag (-29F), I did not really want to get up at all. Anyway, I got up twice to pee right outside the tent and came back to sleep.

We all got up at about 10:30am. We cooked right away. We had Oats meal and Yakisoba. We figured out a a good way to light the chacoal by using the gas stove. I have not had any oats meal for a long long time. I felt very healthy on eating them. Yuko and Taka made the yakisoba. It was very yumme and delicious. With the veg, each pack of the soba is a lot. Yuko and Taka are great chefs. Yuko cut the veg and meat so small that it is very easy to eat and Taka could take care of the stoves and grills at the same time.

After much food, we walked around the camp sites and we found out there are many toliets around. However, we still prefered to do it in the nature. We took some pics and we walked to the dock to look around. There are a couple people fishing there. Btw, we pulled the fishing lines and we had nothing. No fish or crabs whatsoever. After enjoying a can of beer at the dock, we went back to our tents to clean up. It did not take us long to pack everything. We also went to sail the canoe one last time. I originally wanted to see the dam on the other side of the lake but after around an hour sailing we gave up. Everyone was so tired. We could only barely land the canoe in the dock instead of our camp site. We walked back to pick up the car and we drove to the dock to pick up the canoe then we left the lake.

Taka was driving and we saw a big deer in the mid of the road. We were so surprized and we did not run through it luckily. After about 20 mins of driving. I sensed something wrong with the car. So we pulled over to the side and I noticed the water pump belt broke. We drove about 25 mph to reach Slaton. It took us about an hour and half to get to the autozone in Slanton. I changed the water pump belt but still the pump was not working so I brought the water pump right away and changed it there too. It took me like an hour and half to finished the work. I felt bad for Taka and Yuko to get in to this kind of trouble. We were all wet because of the rain. It was funny that Taka described the repairing was like unto an open heart surgery to the car.

We got home about 10pm and I dropped off Taka and Yuko then, I went home to clean up the car and the stuff and about 2am I slept. It was a long day!
